For those commenters who simply do not have the bandwidth to understand self-deprecating humor, kindly have the maturity not to defecate on other's work. If someone isn't your writer, DON'T READ THEM. Your ugly comments aren't going to motivate them one damned bit to make any changes in their voice. All you'll get is blocked.

We all have to do that, over and over. I call it humaning.

Yep. I just blocked one woman who attacked the piece as "bitter and depressing." Well, what's bitter and depressing is someone who can't see the humor in poking very large holes in my own hubris and paying for it. What a curious species we are that we can't see that we are what we attack others for being. I am just as guilty, which is why I get t ask that very question when I'm about to attack someone. What part of me am I about to point out in someone else? Not an easy question, but a fair one.

Julia I laughed out lout ALL the way through this!!! 🤣🤣

I'm so glad you made it to Yellowknife and I have an incredible feeling that the universe is going to handsomely reward you for it because, have you seen the Aurora forecast for this week? I tagged you in a Note by Joe Callender. He said there's a newsworthy major Aurora event happening this week and you're in the best place for it!!

So one writer (as she calls herself but I doubt it) called this piece bitter and depressing. I muted her but clearly the mute button didn’t work. She’s now blocked. Honestly Kristi…what is it about self-deprecating humor that people don’t get? Wow. Bye bye. BTW the skies are back and forth, clearing then not…we’ll see. HOPE!

I guess they just don't understand it!

All week is looking good on the Aurora front so don't lose hope!

I did see the AB last night but not in colour. Only the misty white. Someone else was filming and I could see the green. My phone refused to work, so I am limited to loving what I can take in and memorize for posterity. The skies were totally clear!

Wait, you get up at 3:30 AM EVERYDAY??

I had to Google Yellowknife...I'm thinking, where did she go??

I'm in Yachats and feel like I've entered Twin Peaks. Remember the TV series from years ago?

It's amazing and I have stories and have only been here 2 weeks.

I'd kill for a Hail Merry Lemon tart right now. There is an excellent BBQ food truck. I ordered 18 of my favorite low sugar chocolate/coconut bars...UPS, FedEx and USPS are going to be my lifeline for the next few months.

But, back to you...got to go reread this adventure.

Oh, and I ran into a person here I met in my Portland neighborhood 14 months ago and hadn'tseen in all those months as she left Portland back then. It was surreal. I recognized her dog. She's not homeless exactly. More quirky traveler.

Yes, up that early every day, like it or not. I've learned to like it San. My body insists on waking up this hour no matter when I went to bed. You learn to adapt. I am out at Yachats every single week with rare exception; I buy little things at the Earthworks Gallery north of town, I pick up turkey for my dog at the little shop next to Drift Inn, and I park my ass on the Beach Road south of town to read and walk my pupper. I love the place.

Air North for life, baby. I cannot face air travel but I'd be willing to do it to fly to Yellowknife or Whitehorse or Inuvik... brb i need to go look at flights and dream. 😊

We had AB last night but it was all smoky white to my eye. My phone camera was useless, but someone next to me was filming and I could see all the green. it was really quite something.

Oh my goodness, I hope you get the absolute BEST aurora show! I am often tempted by those incredible deals, but I’ve spoiled myself in recent years by paying a little extra for 4 inches more legroom and priority boarding. When airplane seats are already miserably uncomfortable, I can’t bring myself to give up my carry-on allowance or take a red-eye on top of that. But you’re having the better adventures!

Arenosa, I am convinced that all those stories are well worth the discomfort. Worth the laugh!

Not to your mind I won't. Bitter and depressing writer makes completely umwelcomed and unnecessarily ugly comments on other's work. You're blocked.
