I would have died on the spot! lol.... Hi five for taking it in stride. I was once in a crowded cafeteria when my wrap skirt decided it had had enough and simply dropped to the floor. !!!! Thank the heavens and earth I at least had leggings on underneath (because I'm always cold), but still.............
Donna, that's the whole point. I learned that from watching and listening to comedians. Take the reader/listener down the garden path, then WHAM. I love it when someone does that to me, and I am trying to perfect that skill as I return to professional speaking. Thank you!
Marilyn, truth, every single one of us has stories like this. Most of us allow them to embarrass, shame or diminish us, when truth, these are the stories that delight, connect, and engage us. We are made fools of in life, and when we can join in the joke, that's what sets us free.
Oh, that was hilarious! I was empathizing very strongly. Once, in the sixth grade I went to school without a shirt. Needless to say, my heavy winter coat stayed on and I managed to get the nurse to send me home. I had worked up an actual fever. Lol
Thank you so much--I REALLY needed that laugh. (And the recognition that sometimes anger really does get in our way, and laughter really IS the best medicine). Brava for getting back out there!!
I once participated in a Moth Story Slam, in which the theme was "Roots." I talked about how my mom modeled for me the trait of humor in the face of adversity, a few days before she died. It was the most powerful lesson I have ever learned. (And yes yes yes to how boring the world would be without laughing at oneself! My mom once gave me a fridge magnet that said "Normal is Boring.)
Well, I was banking on the fact that nobody was registering anything but the girls, and I was right. If I ever wanted to rob a bank I guess I know what to flash!
After all, most nudists - at least in America - ARE older people.
One can also deliberately not "act one's age" as a way to flip the middle finger at all the ageists. That's fun too.
I agree completely, Fred.
This is a great story. Love the perspective ❤️

That's a very refreshing perspective, Julia. 🙂 I really enjoy your spin on things.
Thank you. I try, I often miss the mark, but it's sincere.
HAHAHAHA!!!
Honestly, Jan, half the fun is reliving these stories!
Hilarious. That's all.
I love recounting these stories.
Thank you for making me laugh. It’s been a long day but this brightens my evening 🤣🙏🥰
Thanks Amy. as I slowly but surely dig through my memory and eventually, will also dig through my journals, I will find more!

Whatever works!

Really, if I didn't have myself to laugh at my god, what a boring world.

Agree completely. I got my humor from my mother as well. WE are very lucky.
Lol too funny!! I probably wouldn’t have been brave enough to go back out so good on you!

Ha! These days it wouldn't surprise me at all if I suddenly saw MY image in the mirror dressed like that as I passed by!
