Julia, you’re an inspiration and I always appreciate your take on things. I’m 67 and healthy and can’t wait to do more traveling. Writing, traveling and living an uncomplicated life are what I aspire to. Your strong spirit and love of life always shine through in your work. Thank you!
Love this - enjoy your adventure. I may not be ready for adventure travel but I am pushing myself to do hard things, things I normally avoid. Like turning left on a busy street:)
But also doing the things I want to do, writing, composing, putting myself out there. Damn right I'm not too old. Gonna find me some shit to do!
That's the whole point, Cindy. Honestly, the more shit we find to do the more inspired we are to find more shit to do. Screw the age argument. If one door closes because of a body part, let's find another door.
Wow! Such inspiration. We are in similar stages in life, At 62, I've had both hips and a knee replaced, (waiting on my second knee)and two hands surgeries. Lots going on throughout my body and paddling and hiking in the Sierras has been my refugee. We are all of the nature to grow old and I appreciate everyday how miraculous by body does with all its artificial parts! Best of luck in your rehab and adventures. I look forward to hearing about the Rougue.
LOL...I thought that too. We're titanium! The Rogue is breathtaking. Enjoy. And I've kept a backpack with essentials in my car for a long time. You never know.
Deirdre, I think your comment was meant for a different post. I'm writing about adventure travel, not the war in Gaza, for which I am not qualified to comment one way or the other, so I won't. But I have a feeling this was intended elsewhere.
Thank you! Can't wait to read your recap. We are doing a raft support hike of the rogue later this year )~40mi)
Sorry for the late replay. More to follow, lots happened since this post. Wow!
thank you Julia , I feel as if I've just been in a great adventure only in reading your post .
rogue adventure indeed
smiles
You're such an inspiration! And I'm also deeply, totally, shamelessly envious😂 Now I want to go rogue too!
Give Oregon River Experiences a call. Can't say enough good things about them.
I happen to like the couch a lot less after reading your posts. In fact, I'm moving to a hard-backed chair, right now.
Bingo!
The Rogue is no slouch, I'm impressed and inspired.
Thanks Paulette. It was fabulous. I"m doing it again in August with another company, and can't wait. What a gorgeous river.
Have a blast and be safe Julia!!! I can't wait to get back out and travel again...but alas....I can't afford shit right now 🤣🤣
If this weren't paid work, it wouldn't happen this year. I still have to replace a roof and repair my yard. Thank God for credit cards!
Yeah Visa is making a lot of money off me right now lol.
Keep on going!
I'm so excited for you! I can't wait to read about the adventure!!
hell I can't wait to DO it. Been a while!
I love your energy and your spirit! I'm glad I read this before bed. Good night and looking forward to your next post.
Thanks so much Hajee.
Have fun! NO INJURIES, please.
That's the plan, Linda Ann.
So, now a poet and I didn’t know it! Ha-ha.

"Like turning left on a busy street" - this hit my funny bone. After reading your post Julia, I feel like my hiking the woods is a Disneyland ride.
Anything can feel epic, Paulette, if it's a push. Including Disney rides!

I look forward to my next trip through TSA. I'll be setting off the alarms from the parking lot.

Smart, Michele. I was taken aback by my lax attitude. Great reminder to take my conditions seriously.
You're a badass, an inspiration!
many thanks Chaos!

No worries. I've done it myself!
