If you have an android phone, Google how to take aurora pictures. You have to go into advanced settings and change them. Then you can get pictures! I've done it twice and got good pictures yesterday night.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying Yellowknife! I’ve always wanted to go - but northern Alberta and Saskatchewan are as far north as I’ve gone so far. Thank you for sharing such beautiful photos!
Those paintings! Absolutely right up my alley, and magical indeed. I've found that small towns in beautiful settings are a great place to find art and artists — and very glad for Robbie that he's one of the brave few to make it out of subsistence mode.
I love that you chose a painting from around Grande Prairie, my hometown! There are certainly many blue spruce around there. The NWT has many great artists, I've been loving Robbie's work for awhile now so it's cool you got yourself a piece. Enjoy!

Nancy I have an android as well and I get stunning pics just using my night setting.
Even those fog pics are gorgeous. I LOVE weather of all kinds. There's nothing more beautiful than mother nature!
And that artwork is beautiful. Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to look for him online.
I bought a bunch of his stuff, and the tea towels are fantastic gift ideas.
Fabulous pix. I like photo of the fog - it has a dream like quality
Being up there was dreamy indeed. Now...the next bucket list item....

We get where we can with what we are at the time. I've been living that for a while. Still working on expanding my options again. Thank you!
Ooh where do you plan to go next? Do you know yet?

the words "successful artist" don't always go together. I am always inspired by those who found ways to do this.

In fact, Donna, I hope to get back today to get a polar bear piece. I have to restrain myself or I'd buy way too much.
But it would be tough if you regretted not getting it AND you will be supporting local art! A double win.
Love this!
